Job Summary: The Safety Manager will oversee and enhance the company's safety programs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and fostering a culture of safety within our contracting operations. This role will develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and lead training initiatives to maintain a safe work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise safety officers, coordinators, and field safety representatives Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure the safety team operates effectively Assign responsibilities and oversee the execution of safety programs and initiatives Ensure all employees and subcontractors comply with OSHA, state, and company safety policies Act as the primary liaison between management, field teams, and regulatory agencies Duties/ Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs, policies, and procedures Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) and risk assessments to identify potential hazards Establish and enforce safety guidelines for employees, subcontractors, and site visitors Ensure all employees are trained in hazard communication, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage Conduct regular toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce safety awareness Perform routine safety audits, job site inspections, and hazard assessments Identify non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions Lead investigations for workplace accidents, near-misses, and injuries Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective/preventive action plans Maintain accurate safety records and incident reports in compliance with regulations Keep up to date with industry regulations and ensure company adherence Work with regulatory agencies (e.g., OSHA, EPA) during inspections and audits Develop emergency response plans and ensure all employees are trained on them Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and field personnel to integrate safety into daily operations Act as a liaison between management and employees on safety-related matters Promote a positive safety culture and encourage proactive reporting of hazards Analyze safety performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement Develop and implement safety initiatives to reduce workplace risks Recommend and adopt best practices to enhance overall workplace safety Other duties as assigned Education/Certifications/Licenses

Education Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Health, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, or related field is preferred

Certifications OSHA 30 or ability to obtain First Aid/CPR Certification or ability to obtain Hazardous Materials Certification is a plus Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is a plus Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST) is a plus National Safety Council Training is a plus

Licenses State Driver's License

Experience

3-5 years of experience in safety management or a related role, preferably within the construction industry Experience in developing, implementing, and managing safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards Proven experience conducting safety inspections and audits on construction sites, identifying hazards, and recommending corrective actions Experience investigating workplace accidents and incidents, conducting root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures Experience in delivering safety training and education to employees, subcontractors, and management, ensuring that all personnel are well-versed in safety protocols Familiarity with local, state, and federal safety regulations, including OSHA standards, and experience ensuring compliance on construction sites Experience developing and implementing emergency response plans and conducting drills to prepare employees for various emergency scenarios Experience maintaining accurate safety records, preparing reports for management and regulatory agencies, and ensuring documentation is up-to-date and accessible Proven ability to collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and other stakeholders to integrate safety practices into project planning and execution Experience conducting risk assessments and job hazard analysis to identify potential hazards and develop appropriate mitigation strategies Demonstrated experience in promoting a culture of safety, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and staying current with industry best practices Required Skills/Abilities

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and other relevant local, state, and federal safety regulations Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and identify potential hazards on construction sites, implementing appropriate controls to mitigate risks Keen attention to detail to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs and presentations Strong problem-solving skills to quickly address safety concerns Highly organized to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate safety documentation and ensure records are accessible and up-to-date Strong interpersonal skills to foster a culture of safety, encourage open communication, and build positive relationships with employees and subcontractors Ability to conduct thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures Familiarity with safety management software or systems such as Procore to document inspections, track incidents, and manage compliance reports Knowledge of emergency response procedures and ability to develop, implement, and train personnel on emergency preparedness plans Ability to adapt to changing conditions on job sites, remain calm under pressure, and respond quickly to emergencies or unexpected safety challenges A proactive approach to staying current with industry best practices, new safety regulations, and advancements in safety technology Effective time management skills to prioritize and address multiple safety issues, inspections, and training needs across various job sites The physical ability to inspect job sites, which may require climbing, standing, or walking for extended periods Physical Demands/Working Environment
