A growth-stage soil amendment company is seeking a Regional Sales Director to drive new business in California's Central Valley. This individual contributor role focuses on prospecting, relationship building, consultative selling, and closing new trials/sales in alignment with company goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive sales growth by identifying new opportunities and managing complete sales cycle. Build and maintain strong relationships with growers, advisors, and industry partners. Provide technical expertise to help customers understand benefits of soil and water efficiency improvements. Support less experienced sales team members through mentoring and coaching. Manage the sales territory including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. Collaborate with internal technical, research, and operations teams to deliver customer success. Represent the company at customer meetings, industry events, and conferences. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, from initial engagement through after-sales support. Contribute to marketing and sales initiatives to expand market presence. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with proven experience in agricultural sales. Deep network of permanent crop growers (e.g., almonds, vineyards, orchards) in the California Central Valley. Solid understanding of agronomy, soil health, and water use efficiency. Demonstrated success in consultative sales and closing large-scale projects. Knowledge of irrigation practices. Self-starter with ability to work independently and within a team. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills. Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license and ability to travel within the region.
Compensation
$100k-$130k base salary (DOE and performance) plus incentive bonus/commission. Benefits include health, dental, vision, 401k, mileage reimbursement or company vehicle.
