Position Overview:

As a Social Media Intern for the School of Integrative Health (SOIH), you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our online presence by creating, curating, and managing content across various social media platforms. You will work closely with the marketing and communications team to ensure SOIH's mission and programs reach a wide and engaged audience. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in digital marketing, social media strategy, and content creation within the health and wellness space.

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation: Develop creative and engaging social media content (graphics, posts, videos) that aligns with SOIH's mission, programs, and events.

Platform Management: Maintain and update SOIH's social media profiles (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) with consistent branding and messaging. You will also use Buffer for Autoscheduling of Content.

Community Engagement: Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms to foster engagement and build a community around SOIH.

Campaign Support: Assist with planning and executing social media campaigns to promote events, workshops, and academic offerings.

Analytics & Reporting: Track social media metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and content. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize future content.

Collaborative Projects: Work with other teams (e.g., event coordination, academic departments) to ensure integrated social media strategies across various SOIH initiatives.

Trend Monitoring: Stay up-to-date with social media trends, best practices, and competitor activity to keep SOIH's social media presence relevant and innovative.

Qualifications:

Education: Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Experience: Previous experience with social media platforms and content creation (internships, personal projects, etc.).

Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency and willingness to learn social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).

Basic knowledge and willingness to learn social media management tools (e.g., Buffer, Canva, Shutterstock).

Experience with photo and video editing software (Adobe Suite, Final Cut, etc.) is a plus, but not necessary.

Creative mindset with a keen eye for design and detail.

Compensation:

This is a work study internship with a maximum of 10 hours per week.
