UW Bothell offers student employment opportunities to help prepare students by providing practical work experience. Students are provided professional development and mentoring to develop skills to support post-graduation employment preparation and success.

Position Description & Educational Benefits:

Club Council is composed of passionate and dedicated student leaders who are committed to serving clubs and building community at UW Bothell. These student leaders support club members, empower students, and maximize student voice in decision-making. Club Council members handle club registration and recognition, training, and funding for clubs, as well as provide general support for overall club success. They learn facilitation, presentation, public speaking, fiscal responsibility, customer service, and administrative skills.

Council Member Positions:

Marketing Coordinator

Marketing Coordinator - T he Marketing Coordinator oversees the branding and marketing initiatives of Club Council and the broader student clubs' program at UW Bothell.

Additional responsibilities include:

Manages social media, discord, and webpages for Club Council and the student clubs' program Leads the branding and storytelling strategy for Club Council Takes photos, designs graphics, and publicizes club news to the UWB community Oversees the marketing approval process for club events and programs Serves as acting Secretary in the formal Secretary and Event & Resource Coordinator's absence, or if they are in an acting Chair role

Additional preferred qualifications:

Graphic design experience (Canva, Adobe Software, etc.)

Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) - Duties & Responsibilities:

Contribute respectfully to the diverse and inclusive work environment at UWB and the Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) department Contribute to the SEA mission Perform outreach to students about SEA programs, events, and services to promote student involvement, and provide current information about campus resources Maintain shared workspace with other student leaders, including supplies management, rotating cleaning and organizational duties, prompt reporting of issues, etc. Maintain active, timely communication with supervisor and team Connect with the UW Bothell student body to find out what different students want and/or need Maintain documents and folders in a shared digital filing system, on a student engagement platform, social media, and other technology Perform clerical duties including documenting and updating processes, data entry, maintaining work calendars, booking rooms, and scheduling meetings Support and staff SEA events and operations as needed. This includes but is not limited to: New Student Orientation, Welcome Week, SEA org support, and large-scale campus events Represent the SEA department at events and as requested by supervisor Support the recruitment of future student leaders during hiring processes Club Council (Council Member) - Duties & Responsibilities:

Advise students and club leaders one-on-one Promote the support, resources, and funding available to recognized clubs Maintain constant communication with students, clubs, student and professional staff, and the rest of Club Council Hold weekly office hours to be accessible to clubs Review requests from clubs to be heard and prepare questions for the weekly Club Council public business meetings Evaluate and make decisions on recognized student clubs' requests and relevant policy without bias at the weekly Club Council public business meetings (e.g., funding allocations, club recognition, policy review, etc.) Adhere to university processes and policies as outlined in the Services and Activities Fee Bylaws, Club Handbook, and Club Council Funding Model Place reservations for equipment and supplies needed for club events Assist with the club registration and recognition process Lead regular officer trainings and workshops for club success Plan and execute quarterly events for clubs, (e.g., Activity & Resource Fair, Winter Club Fair, Club Recognition Events, etc.) Provide guidance and recommendations to clubs on submitting funding allocation requests Coordinate purchases with clubs and Student Engagement & Activities professional staff Serve as a representative for Club Council and UW Bothell's recognized student clubs Support and attend club events regularly Communicate and work closely with fellow council members, the Club Council Chair, advisor(s), and supervisor, including regular one-on-one meetings Other duties as assigned by supervisor Each specific council member position has additional responsibilities detailed in the "role preferences" portion of the application Time Commitments:

The Club Council Chair is expected to work

10 - 19.5hrs per week

in August Must be available to attend Club Council weekly team meetings,

Tuesday, 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

andClub Council weekly business meeting

Thursdays, 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm Working Conditions:

Majority of work is in-person, with 4 hours per week of optional remote administrative work Virtual work requires use of Zoom, Teams, and other platforms (training provided) Event set up and take down may require lifting boxes and equipment up to 20 lbs. Work is completed in a shared, open-office workspace Pay Rate:

$20.97 per hour

Pay rate anticipated to increase January 1st, 2026, amount of increase TBD

Qualifications

In order to be eligible for this position, applicants must be:

Committed to working in a culturally diverse environment Interested in contributing to the mission and goals of Student Engagement & Activities (SEA) and UWB A matriculated University of Washington Bothell student Able to commit for the entire academic year, incl. fall, winter, and spring quarters Enrolled in at least 6 credits as an undergraduate student or at least 5 credits as a graduate student each quarter of employment Able to work in person (percentage of in-person work depends on position) Able to participate in quarterly trainings - dates listed below (subject to change):

Fall: September 3rd-October 1st 2025 (this includes residential move in assistance and welcome events) Winter: Friday, January 9, 2026 Spring: April 3, 2026 Additional trainings, as determined by supervisor

In good standing with UWB. Good standing is defined as:

Must have a 2.5 cumulative and quarterly GPA Must be in good judicial standing (student conduct)

Minimum Qualifications:

Stong interest in improving the student clubs' program at UW Bothell Strong interest in contributing to the mission of SEA: offering meaningful engagement to students and advocating for social justice Strong interest in working in a diverse team, navigating different viewpoints, and making balanced group decisions Strong interest in improving campus and the UWB community for students Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks, prioritize effectively, follow through on commitments, and meet deadlines Ability to take initiative, proactively identify problems and creative solutions, and make informed decisions Computer skills: ability to use email, Zoom, Canvas, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint Presentation skills: able to convey information in a clear, concise, and compelling way Research skills: able to independently find relevant, accurate information online and in person Written communication skills: able to convey information in a focused, coherent, and accurate way Collaboration experience Demonstrated ability to hear and consider different perspectives Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with student clubs (at UW Bothell or otherwise) Student government experience or equivalent Experience successfully working in diverse teams and environments Intermediate presentation skills Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Excel
