About the Role
The organization is seeking a Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO) to lead its fundraising efforts and align the organization’s philanthropic strategy with its mission and values. The CPO will be responsible for generating significant annual philanthropic revenue and securing additional funds for capital and special projects. This pivotal role includes creating and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy, managing the development department budget, and overseeing a small team.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a proven track record in fundraising, which includes major and planned gifts, grant management, and successful special events. Strong collaborative and innovative skills are essential for building and maintaining a robust donor base through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship.
Applicants should have a minimum of 7 years' professional fundraising experience in a leadership role, ideally within social service or community-based organizations. This role requires exceptional communication, interpersonal, and management skills, as well as proficiency in donor management tools, with a strong preference for Salesforce experience. A Bachelor’s degree is required, and CFRE certification is a plus.
The successful candidate should share a passion for the organization's mission, demonstrate the ability to engage with a diverse community, and have a commitment to the highest professional and ethical standards. Experience within the Jewish community is strongly preferred. The candidate should be a dedicated team player, prioritizing the organization’s mission and philanthropic initiatives.
