Overview
Join our team as a Senior Construction Estimator and take the lead on diverse estimating activities. This key role involves overseeing day-to-day operations, managing bids, and utilizing vendor and cost databases, as well as estimating software. We are looking for candidates with a solid foundation in construction estimating, an understanding of project specifications, design drawings (P&ID, PFD, etc.), and experience in risk assessment analysis. Prepare comprehensive quantity take-offs, ensuring inclusivity of all items in the assigned scopes and pricing. Interpret project documents to develop clear and competitive estimates, including general conditions and bid proposals. Communicate project requirements and owner directives to preconstruction teams, working to achieve set goals. Manage multiple projects effectively while value engineering solutions within client budgets. Identify qualified subcontractors and maintain an updated list for bid solicitation. Represent the company at all preconstruction meetings with design teams and clients. Fill in design gaps with assumptions that align with intended outcomes. Monitor costs throughout the project's lifecycle and prepare project clarifications and bid assumptions for owners. Analyze local market conditions to assess their impact on costs and profitability. Collaborate with company executives to influence strategic planning efforts. Establish and promote best practices in estimating protocols. Demonstrate strong planning, organizational, and coordinating abilities. Participate in relevant technical and professional meetings and seminars. Set timelines and estimating goals to ensure timely submissions. Contribute to departmental objectives while fostering personal career growth. Act as an ambassador for the company’s vision when engaging potential clients, highlighting Lemartec's capabilities. Collaborate closely with Lemartec’s Building Systems for related metal building pricing initiatives. Ensure all quality service requirements meet project standards. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration on estimates across various disciplines. Provide risk assessment and cost comparison analyses on estimates. Maintain proficiency in scheduling programs, preferably Microsoft Projects. Possess CAD and BIM experience. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent. 7+ years of construction estimating experience or 10+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to make solid decisions under tight deadlines. Proven practical experience in estimating. Capability to independently create conceptual estimates. Strong multitasking skills in a dynamic environment. Experience in project scheduling and document control. Expertise in constructability pertaining to construction methods, materials, and economics gained through hands-on experience. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively. Proficient with software tools including Microsoft Project, P6 or equivalent, and estimating software (SAGE/Timberline and On-Screen Take Off). What's in it for you:
