Job Title: Materials Technician Job Description
Engage in critical materials testing and observation services on various significant projects, including roadways, bridges, airports, large commercial developments, and remediation. You will support exciting local projects such as a Costco and an upcoming micron project. This role involves performing field and laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel.
Responsibilities
Conduct testing, observation, and inspection following training and specified procedures.
Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
Perform basic analysis of data to verify accuracy before communicating and submitting to the Project Manager.
Communicate information to the Project Manager and other personnel as directed.
Maintain equipment and ensure proper calibration.
Train lower-level technicians based on your experience level.
Essential Skills
At least one year of experience in field testing.
1-2 years of relevant field experience in construction materials testing.
Experience with concrete, steel, and compaction testing.
ACI Level 1 certification.
Ability to pass a drug/ background /MVR check (THC is permissible).
Valid driver's license.
Proficiency in using a laptop computer and Microsoft Word and Excel.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with concrete testing, materials testing, soil testing, material handling, concrete inspection, engineering, construction, nuclear gauge, and inspection.
Understanding of geotechnical reports is advantageous.
Ability to assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to project sites.
Adherence to strict safety standards.
Capability to drive a vehicle such as a Ford F-150 or equivalent.
