Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist
to their team. Salary/Hourly Rate: $100k - $115k Position Overview: The Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for leading the day-to-day functions of the Compliance team. This includes overseeing product filings, managing obligations related to extended producer responsibility, and driving strategic initiatives for the US, European, and Canadian markets. The Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist will ensure alignment and regulatory reporting mandates. Additionally, the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be accountable for monitoring regulatory developments, investigating product-related incidents, and ensuring the timely implementation of compliance updates. The Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist will have one direct report. Responsibilities of the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
Lead daily operations within the regulatory compliance function, including team oversight.
Maintain and ensure accuracy of the regulatory data management system.
Drive execution of global compliance initiatives (e.g., REACH, regulatory surveys).
Manage product registration and notification processes across markets.
Conduct and oversee investigations into adverse product reactions.
Provide regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including:
Claims validation.
Ingredient and formula assessments.
Packaging and labeling compliance reviews.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
4 - 5+ years of regulatory affairs experience in the personal care industry. Related experience in personal care with slightly less regulatory experience can be considered.
Experience in a leadership or very hands-on mentorship capacity.
Strong understanding and application of international cosmetic regulations (USA, EU, UK, Canada, Asia).
In-depth knowledge of drug regulatory frameworks in the USA and Canada.
The ability to work in the NYC office up to 3 days a week.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Regulatory Affairs Specialist:
Experience managing at least 1 direct report.
Experience working with a luxury or high-end brand, or experience working with contract manufacturers.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field is required.
Master's degree is preferred.
