Principal Manufacturing Engineer

Eleven Recruiting is looking for a Principal Manufacturing Engineer to join one of our largest Aerospace clients sitting onsite in Torrance CA. This role will be responsible for the process development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for new and existing products. Evaluate and troubleshoot process issues focused on improving SQDCI. Leads manufacturing cost reduction projects and collaborates with the cross-functional team to ensure machining and assembly processes are low risk for safety and quality, efficient, and at low cost.
Responsibilities:
Principle troubleshooter for complex manufacturing or material-related problems. Assists in the development of patent applications for designated proprietary technology. Lead in the development, design, and validation of existing and new manufacturing and assembly processes utilizing 3D solid-modeling, CAD, and FEA with a focus on employee safety, ergonomics, and lean concepts. Follow the NPI Stage-Gate process by executing the following: Ensure the manufacturing process accommodates final machining to achieve geometrical tolerances. Determine manufacturing methods and estimate setup/run times. (takt time/cycle time analysis) Develop control plans and inspection methods. Define all materials, tooling, fixturing, adhesives, methods of manufacturing, etc. needed and ensure safety and quality are taken into consideration. Create high-quality standard work that reduces human error. Apply GD&T as required to designs, and components drawings. Work with all affected areas on safety observations, PFMEA, cost reductions, ECOs, NCMRs, CAPAs, and part obsolescence. Improve productivity, efficiency, safety, and throughput while eliminating waste by continuously improving designs, fixturing, and processes. Communicate with and provide manufacturing expertise to; Suppliers, Customers, Engineering, Quality, Operations, Purchasing, and Sales. Ensure proper definition, problem solve, and support the Operations teams in maintaining production flow to meet deliveries. Work to meet your personal and department manufacturing engineering KPIs. Investigate and provide root cause analysis when KPIs are not met. Implement approved corrective actions. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrial Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 10 years playing a lead role in the manufacturing environment (magnetic experience a plus). Recognized as world-class expert in manufacturing engineering and automation. Expert in product design for multiple highly regulated industries. Experience in rotor assembly and housing Components
