Coryell Health PACU Department
is dedicated to providing exceptional healthcare services in a collaborative and supportive environment. Our Surgery Department is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pre-Op/PACU-RN to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring patients receive the highest standard of post-operative care as they recover from anesthesia.
Key Responsibilities: Monitor patients' vital signs and assess their levels of consciousness in the recovery room. Provide immediate care for patients recovering from surgical procedures under anesthesia. Identify and manage potential side effects or complications resulting from anesthesia. Collaborate with the surgical team to assist in the safe and effective recovery of patients. Educate patients and their families about post-operative care and recovery processes. Requirements
An Associate's or Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) Licensed for the state of Texas or other state Compact License. Certified post-anesthesia nurse (CPAN) preferred. At least two years' of experience as a nurse in a post-anesthesia care unit, preferably with Cardiac Cath Lab recovery experience. Proficiency in electronic hospital management systems. Extensive experience in measuring and interpreting vital signs and levels of consciousness. Advanced knowledge of best practices in patient care. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Good organizational and time management abilities.
