Northrop Grumman Classified Solution is seeking a

Principle RF Engineer

to join our dynamic team of technical professionals in the Northridge, California. This will be an on-site position.

Basic qualifications for a Principle RF Engineer level (T03):

Minimum 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD of experience in RF and antenna product design and development.

Coordinates and conducts RF and Antenna design testing and evaluations of engineering design concepts

Supports new technology development and maturation.

Develops specifications and requirements, and failure reports.

Good knowledge of RF testing and measurement using RF instruments and anechoic chambers.

Create designs and simulation models using computer modeling tools.

Supports subcontractor evaluation, selection and coordination activities with respect to RF needs.

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships are a must.

Preferred qualifications:

Familiarity with RF flight hardware.

Hands-on design experience of multi octave bandwidth antennas for Supersonic Aircraft / Missile platforms.

Experience in detection, beamforming and angle-of-arrival estimation.

Direct Digital conversion experience / signal processing hardware experience / Data link experience is a plus.

RF background with a good mechanical understanding for flight hardware.

Experience desired in manufacturing support, characterization, test, installation and operation of antennas on missiles or aircraft and experience in general military RF systems.

Active DoD Secret Clearance desired. Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Ability to measure using RF Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, and signal generators and interpret RF Test data and radiation patterns.

Experience with Ansys HFSS software or equivalent modeling tools preferred.

Experience with High Temperature Materials.

Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings/schematics.

Ability to communicate findings to customers and management.

Self-starter capable of performing assigned tasks with some direction.

Innovative thinker with a demonstrated ability of solving complex problems which require ingenuity and "out of the box" ideas.

Ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,300.00 - $165,500.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
