Responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, ensuring they function safely and efficiently. This role involves responding to system failures, performing repairs, and conducting preventive maintenance inspections on various equipment such as balers, conveyors, and motors. The position requires a proactive approach to equipment performance and safety, with a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and corporate standards.
Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain the operation of all plant systems and equipment.
Perform repairs in accordance with Omni Recycling Groups safety rules and OSHA requirements.
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders and building equipment.
Maintain DEI (Daily Equipment Inspections) backlog.
Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and recommend measures to improve production and equipment performance.
Coordinate with plant maintenance staff on repair schedules.
Order replacement parts as needed with suppliers.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards.
Requirements
Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience preferably in a Recycling Environment/Facility.
Proficient use of Microsoft Office
Experience with hydraulic, conveyor, pneumatic, electrical control, and motor/gearbox systems.
Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Welding experience. Mig and Stick.
Ability to work overtime as needed or emergency repair situations.
