VISTA Red Kettle Coordinator
Support The Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign by strengthening volunteer and staff capacity for future holiday seasons. Work with the Community Relations and Development team to improve volunteer recruitment, campaign training, and logistics - including kettle drop-off/pick-up and TipTap touchless donations. Collaborate with 10 local officers to identify priorities and build best practices. This role is ideal for those interested in volunteer management, logistics, fundraising, or nonprofit work. The Salvation Army serves 70,000+ people annually in the DC Metro Area, providing housing, meals, youth programs, addiction support, and financial assistance - all without discrimination.
Member Duties :
-1- Analyze successes and areas of improvement from Red Kettle Campaigns of previous years, including volunteer engagement, productivity at each kettle through net income after expenditures, and creative kettle opportunities such as sporting events or holiday fairs -2- Research and cultivate relationships with organizations who may support, donate, and volunteer, helping each of our 10 locations with their recruitment efforts -3- Create bell ringer training updates and improvements, long-term kettle logistics planning, and online presence management
