We rely on dedicated, long-term volunteers to help feed our community. All volunteers must: Be 18+ (kitchen work) or 16+ (student cleaning roles). Complete a volunteer application before starting.

Meal Service Schedule & Locations Mon, 5–6 PM

– Hot meal + salad, fruit, dessert, sandwich to go (First Presbyterian Church, Main & South St., Port Jefferson Village) Tue, 1–1:30 PM

– Hot meals, water, groceries to go (St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 390 Patchogue Rd., Port Jefferson Station) Wed, 5–6 PM

– Hot meal + soup or salad, fruit, dessert to go (First Presbyterian Church, Main & South St.) Fri, 3:30–5 PM

– Hot meal + groceries to go (First Presbyterian Church, Main & South St.)

Current Volunteer Roles Cook

– Experienced cook preferred (County food safety certification a plus; training provided if needed). Hours: Mon late morning–afternoon, Tue morning, Wed 1–4 PM, Fri 1–6 PM. Set-Up Crew

– Prepare kitchen between 10:30 AM–12 PM (lifting, setting up tables, unloading vehicles, prepping equipment). Clean-Up Crew

– Wash and store kitchen equipment after meals (4–6 PM). Drivers

– Pick up food donations from Long Island Cares (Hauppauge) and deliver to local sites. Once or twice a month, morning pick-up (flexible times). Must have a vehicle and lift heavy packages. Student Volunteers (16+)

– Deep-clean kitchens monthly (refrigerators, stoves, ovens, floors) and stock pantry items during meal service. Eligible for community service hours.
