This position is open for consideration at the O&M Technician levels I, II, and III, depending on your prior experience.
Hourly rates range from $36.07 to $55.57 based on experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary responsibilities of this role include functioning as an Operations Technician. You will operate and troubleshoot equipment and systems as needed to facilitate safe, reliable plant operations and maximize asset value.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate, monitor, and maintain turbines, generators, pumps, scrubber plants, industrial wastewater treatment plants, boilers, motors, combustion turbines, and associated auxiliary equipment.
Utilize computerized maintenance management systems to oversee and control work order systems and spare parts inventory.
Lead identification of equipment or system problems and propose effective solutions.
Conduct predictive and preventive maintenance tasks.
Perform electrical maintenance on generators, transformers, and MOVs.
Troubleshoot plant equipment including power and control circuits, heaters, motors, and transformers using electrical testing instruments.
Develop and implement operating procedures for plant equipment to ensure safe and consistent operation.
Carry out all assigned work efficiently, safely, and in compliance with environmental and housekeeping standards following all federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
POSITION SCOPE
The incumbent must communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. The O&M Technician must complete the testing requirements and qualifications for the role, maintaining and advancing electrical knowledge through continued learning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Power Plant Technology, Engineering Technology, or Electronics OR
High School Diploma with at least 18 months of trade or technical training in Power Plant Technology.
Successfully complete all training and job requirements for this position, including passing the EEI TECH test.
Strong electrical background.
Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and overtime as needed.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency.
Understanding of power plant schematics.
Valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
Capability to work in a power plant environment, which includes climbing and walking extended distances.
Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
