About The Role
The New York Consulting Group LLC is seeking a hands-on, results-driven Plant Manager / Operations Lead to oversee plastics manufacturing operations at our Clifton, NJ facility. This role involves managing the end-to-end production process of polyethylene films, liners, bags, and custom packaging solutions in a 250,000 sq. ft. facility housing 18 extruders running 24/7 and 3 recycling machines.
Industry-Specific Experience Required
We are specifically seeking candidates with hands-on experience in:
Plastics extrusion and film manufacturing
Polyethylene products (films, liners, bags)
Converting operations for plastic packaging
Multi-layer film production
Recycling and reprocessing operations
Custom packaging solutions manufacturing
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily plant operations for polyethylene film and bag production lines
Oversee 18 extrusion production lines, bag converting equipment, and 3 recycling machines
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 10-15 employees including machine operators, production associates, and maintenance staff
Drive preventative maintenance programs specific to extrusion and converting equipment
Troubleshoot extrusion and converting machinery breakdowns efficiently
Implement and uphold safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations
Monitor raw material (resin) inventory, WIP, and finished goods accuracy
Analyze production data to optimize film quality, thickness consistency, and waste reduction
Support continuous improvement initiatives in plastics manufacturing processes
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence
Qualifications
Required:
Bilingual in Spanish and English - must be able to communicate effectively in both
5-10 years of progressive experience in plastics manufacturing operations
Specific experience with polyethylene extrusion, film converting, or plastic packaging manufacturing
Proven leadership experience managing production teams in multi-line extrusion environments
Understanding of plastic resins, additives, and material handling
Knowledge of blown film or cast film extrusion processes
Demonstrated ability to identify operational improvements in plastics manufacturing
Hands-on, proactive management style

Familiarity with retail, commercial, and industrial packaging requirements
