Travel Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg transplant overflow position in a Level I trauma setting requiring travel experience and a TN or compact RN license.
Responsibilities Work on a Medical Surgical transplant overflow unit in a short-term acute care hospital Level I trauma center environment Night shifts, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 07:00 Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:6-7 with team nursing model Patient population includes medical and transplant overflow cases Minimal floating required, primarily to like units or campuses within 20 miles On-call and weekend shifts may be required as needed Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred Provide care for med/surg and transplant overflow patients using a team nursing model Must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays if assignment includes Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's; if 2 holidays fall during assignment, must work at least 1 All time off (RTO) must be requested at the time of application and may not be added after offer Returning employees or former internal associates must be separated from previous employment for at least one year before reapplying Scrubs required per facility policy Vaccination status must be provided Minimal floating between like units or campuses is required Shifts and scheduling are not block scheduled except for potential weekend blocks
Requirements Active TN or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required; 3 years preferred At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required Experience in large hospital and Level I trauma settings required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted Current BLS certification required Cannot accept first-time travelers unless 3 years of recent experience Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility (strict radius rule) No pending licensure accepted; must meet NLC compliance guidelines
