The Community Outreach Volunteer will serve as a vital ambassador for IMPACT Community Action Partnership by supporting outreach efforts throughout the Des Moines area. This role is ideal for someone passionate about building strong community connections, supporting families in need, and increasing volunteer involvement in the fight against food insecurity. You will work directly with the Volunteer Manager to represent IMPACT at community events, provider meetings, and with local organizations. Key Responsibilities

1. Community Engagement & Partnership Building Connect with local schools, faith-based organizations, businesses, and nonprofits to share IMPACT’s mission and volunteer needs.

Build and maintain positive relationships with current and potential community partners.

Coordinate with the Volunteer Manager to identify high-need areas and schedule outreach visits accordingly.

Represent IMPACT professionally and warmly at community events, fairs, and other public forums.

2. Volunteer Recruitment Present at provider and partner meetings to share current volunteer opportunities and distribute volunteer applications.

Support recruitment drives by handing out applications and promotional materials at local businesses, community centers, libraries, and other strategic locations.

Share testimonials and success stories to inspire community involvement.

Encourage individuals and groups to get involved and walk them through the sign-up process when needed.

3. Public Speaking & Presentations Speak on behalf of the organization at community meetings, resource fairs, and advocacy events.

Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to develop talking points, handouts, and informational packets
