CDL-A Road Drivers - Competitive Hourly Pay and Benefits

Position Overview: As a Road Driver, you will be responsible for picking up and delivering trailers between Service Centers and turn-point locations using tractor-trailer combinations. Connect with a FedEx Freight talent specialist to discuss your role. Key Responsibilities: Safely operate a tractor-trailer combination, including doubles (and triples where applicable). Conduct daily pre-trip and safety inspections on your vehicle. Perform hook/unhook operations of trailers and dollies. Ensure all required documentation and reports are completed accurately. Maintain logs and comply with hazardous material regulations. Communicate with dispatch regarding delays, arrivals, and equipment issues as needed. May require chaining of vehicle tires, if necessary. Potentially assist with dock operations or city driver duties. Load and unload freight when required. Adhere to all applicable laws and company policies. Perform additional duties as needed. Qualifications: Must have a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with required endorsements. At least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years, or successful completion of the FedEx Freight Driver Development Course. Maintain a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Meet DOT regulatory requirements. Possess basic communication skills and the ability to perform physical tasks associated with driving. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Demonstrate initiative and motivation. The Hazardous Materials endorsement must be obtained within 120 days of offer acceptance. Work Environment: Drive long distances in various weather and road conditions. Possible exposure to noise, vibration, dust, and diesel fumes. Work hours may vary based on operational needs, including overnight stays. Additional Details: Hourly pay rate ranges from $30.35 to $35.13. Mileage pay for linehaul duties is between $0.6953 and $0.8049 per mile, plus additional fixed pay related to linehaul tasks.
