Job Overview: Client is seeking a skilled

Linux Systems Administrator

to join a dynamic team in Linthicum, MD. This on-site role involves managing secure, multi-user systems in a classified environment, supporting Linux platforms.

Must have skills - A Linux Systems Administrator with hands-on RHEL setup experience, STIG compliance, virtualization (VMware), and Security+ CE (or IAT Level 2) certification; Windows experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows systems in an Active Directory environment Ensure strict compliance with Information Systems Security (ISS) guidelines Perform system updates, backups, and recovery operations Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and support end users Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups Create and maintain system documentation and technical procedures Collaborate with vendors and internal teams for system enhancements Prepare and maintain security documentation in support of IA team Recommend and implement system and network improvements Support multiple networks and ensure operational continuity

Basic Qualifications:

Associate's degree + 7 years, or Bachelor's + 5 years, or Master's + 3 years (or High School + 9 years) Active/current DoD security clearance (or willingness to obtain) DoD 8570/8140 compliant security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CASP) or ability to obtain within 6 months Experience managing RHEL systems in an AD environment Strong troubleshooting and independent problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Systems or related field Active Secret or Top Secret clearance Experience with:

NISPOM, RMF, STIG, or JSIG environments Windows Server and AD domain administration Networking fundamentals (subnets, VLANs, routing; Cisco experience a plus) Virtualization (VMware), Red Hat Satellite, SAN/NAS systems Scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell), DevOps tools (Docker, GitLab, Kubernetes) Security tools (HBSS, Splunk, SolarWinds) System image deployment and certification/accreditation processes
