The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of manufacturing equipment and building systems. This role combines mechanical troubleshooting with building maintenance to support both production and workplace safety.
Job Responsibilities
Manufacturing Equipment Maintenance
Inspect, maintain, and repair mechanical systems. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues. Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Assist with installation and setup of new machinery and modifications. Building & Facility Maintenance
Maintain HVAC systems, lighting, plumbing, and general building infrastructure. Perform repairs on doors, windows, flooring, walls, and ceilings as needed. Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify and address maintenance needs. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized building repairs or upgrades. Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Follow safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment. Team Collaboration
Work closely with production, safety, and facilities teams to prioritize tasks. Support emergency response and after-hours facility issues when required. All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High school degree or GED required Two-year technical degree preferred, or equivalent experience. Experience:
3-5 years experience in mechanical maintenance function. Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to trouble-shoot mechanical and electrical problems Previous experience operating a variety of maintenance tools, lathe, drill press, air tools, sweeper, lawn mower, forklifts, and drivable man-lift Ability to read blueprints and electrical, mechanical and hydraulic schematics preferred Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures Working knowledge of fabrication, welding, and machining methods is a plus Strong written and communication skills Proficient computer skills Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs Physical Requirements and Working Environment
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work in varied environmental conditions. Comfortable with standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights or in confined spaces. Variable hours considering any vendor needs, after production closes, or inclement weather.
Compensation and Benefits Expected Compensation Rate: $30-$35 Specialty Manufacturing is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
