As an " Emulation & Prototyping Methodology & Automation Expert " in our Advanced Chip Engineering (ACE) organization, you will work in a dynamic environment to develop methodology, flows and tools to improve efficiency and quality of results for enabling pre-silicon emulation and prototyping platforms for SoC and IP verification, validation and software teams across the organization. You'll be a technical lead working closely with other domain experts in architecture, IP/SoC design, verification, validation and SW teams to architect, design and develop state-of-the-art methodology and automation for emulation & prototyping, by applying your VLSI, emulation & prototyping experience, programming skills and leveraging existing internal and external EDA SW tools and libraries.
This opportunity is within ACE 'Design Methodologies and Automation' organization, a cross-functional team responsible for developing methodology and automation to improve efficiency and quality of results for end-to-end design, verification,
emulation
and implementation of the IP, Sub-Systems and SoCs for the Automotive Processors and Advanced microcontrollers in NXP.
The right candidate will be working in a fast-paced engineering environment, on a leading-edge advanced node technologies enabling automated building of exciting and complex SoCs.
In this role, you will work in close collaboration with Architecture, IP design, SoC Design, Verification, Implementation and Design Enablement teams to drive new ways of working, improvements to current ways of working, addressing design quality challenges and continuously improve NXP Semiconductors emulation and prototyping flows. While developing these new ways of working, successful candidates will be working on actual designs and implementation to pilot and develop the automation. Successful candidates will utilize their extensive experience in emulation & prototyping methodology, VLSI CAD Software development to identify organizational needs and deliver creative solutions based on those needs.

Work closely with Architecture teams, IP and SoC designers and SoC Implementation teams from multiple sites to develop advanced methodology and automation for emulation, prototyping to enable pre-si validation and SW development These automation applications span over design flow automation, design optimization, regression systems, design database, etc. Develop/manage multiple automations based on various SW languages and frameworks Learn, enhance, and support existing products Strong software and CAD background required Cross functional aspects:
In this role, the candidate will work with multiple NXP Engineering teams, including Architecture, IP & SoC design, verification and emulation functions, coordinate and drive groundbreaking initiatives and new ways of working. Qualifications
BS or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related disciplines with strong background in SW development Strong background and experience with emulation platforms like Veloce, Zebu, Palladium Deep understanding of FPGA prototyping using Xilinx FPGAs 10+ years of experience in developing complex SW projects, and hands-on expertise in programming using Python & C++ Hands on experience in Unix/Linux, revision control (Git, BitBucket), SW development and debug tools Good understanding of HDL: System Verilog, Verilog, VHDL, front-end design, emulation and FPGA Place & Route flows and tools Excellent analytical problem-solving skills Strong understanding of design, layout, constraints (SDC, Clocks, CDC, RDC), Static timing analysis, Low-power and Power-aware flows (UPF) Strong verbal and written communication skills Desirable skills/experience: Data structures, algorithms and SW development for optimization problems Prior experience in VLSI CAD methodology and tool development Experience with Design revision control (GIT, DesignSync) and Make Splunk, Jenkins, LSF and CI/CD process Job location:

The base salary range for this position is as mentioned below per year. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles. Company benefits include health. dental, and vision insurance. 401(k), and paid leave. Please note that the base salary range (OR hourly rate) is a guideline, and individual total compensation may vary based on a number of factors such as qualifications, skill level, work location, and other business and organizational needs. This base pay range is specific to California and is not applicable to other locations. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range as of the date of this posting is: $218,200 to $300,100 annually
