With renovations underway and an exciting relaunch set for January 2026, we're creating a space that reflects the spirit of Marin - sophisticated, welcoming, and deeply connected to the local landscape.

We're looking for a Chief Engineer who thrives on building something meaningful - someone ready to lead our engineering operations through this pivotal transition and beyond.

As Chief Engineer, you'll be at the heart of the hotel's transformation - maintaining our current operations while helping shape the future of the property. From overseeing capital projects and preventative maintenance to ensuring safety, compliance, and operational excellence, this is your opportunity to lead in a role that blends leadership, strategy, and hands-on problem-solving.

What You'll Do

Operations & Asset Management

Oversee all aspects of hotel maintenance: HVAC-R, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, and grounds.

Direct preventative maintenance programs and long-term asset protection plans.

Lead capital improvement and renovation projects from planning through execution.

Supervise external vendors and ensure projects stay on budget and on time.

Team Leadership & Guest Satisfaction

Foster a culture of safety, professionalism, and guest-first thinking.

Manage a team of engineers and maintenance staff, ensuring consistent training and performance.

Conduct property inspections and collaborate with leadership on service improvement strategies.

Respond promptly to guest and operational needs.

Compliance & Reporting

Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal codes, permits, and regulations.

Maintain proper documentation for inspections, licenses, and certifications.

Build relationships with city officials, fire marshals, and safety inspectors.

Technology & Tools

Utilize Marriott systems for reporting, compliance, and asset tracking.

Use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and office equipment.

Oversee parts inventory, order supplies, and manage budgets effectively.

What We're Looking ForMinimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of relevant experience OR

2-year degree in Engineering or related field and 1+ year of experience.

Technical expertise in HVAC-R, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous Chief Engineer experience in a hotel environment (limited or full-service).

Familiarity with Marriott standards and systems.

Flexible availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Proven track record of growing responsibility and exceptional performance.
