Hyperexponential
About hyperexponential (hx)
At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a $7 trillion industry - which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms.
Until now, insurers have been making billion-dollar decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision - helping them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence.
Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally - already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx.
What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do - from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates.
What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure; it's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company engineered to endure.
If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next.
About the role
You'll join a small US Sales & Marketing pod to find, build, and productionize practical automations that remove manual work and speed the GTM engine. This is a hands-on builder role where shipping simple, reliable automations is the priority - we're testing whether this capability should scale into a permanent function.
The team moves fast, measures impact, and values pragmatic, production-ready work over prototypes that never leave a laptop. You'll get high visibility and direct feedback from Account Executives and Sales leadership, and your deliverables will be evaluated by real usage and business outcomes.
If you enjoy shipping small, high-impact projects, communicating clearly with non-technical partners, and iterating based on real data, this role will give you meaningful impact in a short timeframe.
What you'll be doing Deliver production automations: ship 2-3 automations to production by the end of the internship (examples: lead enrichment, meeting-notes → CRM updates, follow-up drafting, lightweight reporting). Build and integrate systems: connect CRM, marketing automation, documents, chat, calendar, and data stores using platforms like Zapier/Make/n8n plus light Python/JavaScript for glue code, with sensible error handling and retries. Make results visible: stand up a simple dashboard (Notion or small web view) showing run counts, success rates, time saved, and common errors; add basic alerting for failures or missed SLAs. Iterate with users: run two improvement cycles based on usage data and AE feedback; publish short release notes and measure adoption and satisfaction. Enable and document: publish short playbooks (selection criteria, security/PII basics, request process) and run two internal demos to share what you've shipped. Operate with stakeholders: shadow AEs, map current vs. future steps, define a small first scope and ship frequently (weekly where possible), prioritizing impact and reliability. What you'll need to have done
Familiarity with an automation platform (Zapier, Make, n8n, or agent frameworks) and a portfolio, class projects, or hackathon work that shows you can ship. Comfortable working with APIs/webhooks/JSON and writing basic Python or JavaScript for data transforms and light orchestration. Clear judgment on rules vs. AI: you can choose appropriate solutions based on speed, cost, and accuracy trade-offs. Basic data handling skills (CSV/JSON, simple SQL) and a practical sense for schemas and data hygiene. Reliability-first engineering practices: logging, retries/backoff, idempotency, avoiding duplicate runs, and simple Git/PR workflows. Strong communication: able to explain trade-offs to non-technical partners, write concise docs, and run short demos. You're unlikely to thrive here if
You prefer long projects with slow cycles rather than quick shipping and iterative improvement. You're uncomfortable working directly with business stakeholders to define scope and measure impact. You avoid production-quality engineering practices (logging, retries, error handling, audit trails). If reading our

leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us. What we offer
Real ownership and measurable impact in a small US squad with tight feedback loops. Exec visibility and exposure to a16z-backed leadership and the US GTM team. Strong chance of conversion into RevOps/Enablement or Automation Engineer roles if performance and fit align. Paid internship with pro-rated compensation (see above); full transparency on role expectations and outcomes. Additional perks
Top-spec equipment (laptop, screens, adjustable desks, etc.). Regular hackathons, lunch & learns, and socials, both remote and in-person, to foster collaboration and creativity. Team breakfasts and lunches, fully stocked snacks and drinks, and a fun, creative office at WeWork - 500, 7th Avenue. Access to cutting-edge AI tools and experimentation budget, giving you the freedom to test, learn, and innovate ahead of the market. Interview process
Talent Screen - 30 minutes Hiring Manager + skills interview (technical + product fit) - 1 hour Values interview - 1 hour We offer!
