The Scale Operator is responsible for accurately weighing and recording incoming and outgoing materials by operating scales and computer systems. This role ensures precise measurements and documentation of scrap metal transactions. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, verifying materials, issuing receipts, and maintaining accurate records.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Greet and assist customers, verifying materials and providing guidance on sorting and disposal procedures Weigh incoming and outgoing loads using an automated system Communicate with yard staff regarding incoming and outgoing loads Process inspection tickets to support proper inventory control Retrieve and manage data within information systems Maintain and monitor the radiation detection system Stay current with industry trends and practices Make decisions and solve problems to support customer needs Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills / Abilities

Proficiency in basic office software and computer systems Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording transactions Friendly, professional, and customer-focused demeanor Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively Willingness to learn and initiative to retain instructions Knowledge of scrap metal commodities helpful Familiarity with laws/regulations governing transportation and weight determination helpful Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED equivalent Additional education or customer service experience a plus Other Job Demands

This role is primarily performed indoors. The position involves repetitive motion related to data entry and consistent use of standard office equipment.
