Lumber Estimator
We’re looking for someone who’s been in the estimating seat and knows how to handle lumber framing packages for residential and multifamily projects. This role is customer-facing, so you’ll be working directly with sales, builders, and architects to put together accurate takeoffs and estimates. If you know how to read blueprints, calculate loads, and put together lumber packages, this could be a solid fit.
Day to Day: Estimate costs for lumber framing packages (residential and commercial) based on building codes and company standards Read and break down blueprints and specs, sometimes in a high-volume environment Do clean, accurate takeoffs and scope out supplier/vendor proposals Put together conceptual, budget, and detailed estimates for projects Coordinate with designers so materials aren’t duplicated Support sales with materials lists and customer orders, sometimes jumping in to explain plans or procedures Compare actual vs. estimated materials after a project wraps up Communicate with builders, architects, and engineers when questions come up What You Need:
3-5 years of hands-on estimating experience (lumber framing packages for residential or multifamily) Comfortable reading blueprints and understanding loads Familiar with lumber takeoffs and construction procedures TradeTech experience is preferred, but if you’ve been using PlanSwift or Bluebeam, we can cross-train Strong communication skills since you’ll be working directly with customers and the sales team Organized, accurate, and able to handle multiple jobs at once
