Join CNO's dynamic HR Intern program for Summer 2026, designed to immerse college students in the exciting field of HR and Organizational Development within the insurance industry.
As an HR Organizational Development (OD) Intern, you will:
Play a vital role in enhancing the intern program, ensuring a rewarding experience for interns, whether they are working in-person or remotely.
Engage with HR and various departments to effectively promote CNO's summer internship opportunities internally and externally.
Assist in organizing the Annual National Intern Day Event by coordinating with Senior Leadership Group (SLG) speakers and providing valuable feedback to the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO).
Approach every task with a focus on our associates and interns, while actively promoting workplace well-being.
This is a paid internship, offering competitive hourly wages between $21 and $23, depending on location, plus paid holidays for Memorial Day and the 4th of July.

The CNO 2026 internship program runs from Mid-May to Early August, with a potential early start for OD Interns to assist with the onboarding process. Throughout the internship, you will participate in various enriching activities, including:

A special in-person event at the Carmel Corporate Office (CCO)

To qualify for the HR OD Internship, candidates should possess:
Progress towards a bachelor's degree in business, management, HR, industrial psychology, or a related field.
Status as a rising junior or senior, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and June 2028.
A minimum GPA of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.
Availability to work 40 hours per week for 13 weeks during the summer.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office products.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
What will make you stand out:
Residence in or near Carmel, IN or Indianapolis, IN, with the ability to work in the office 1-2 days each week.
Previous internship or work experience in HR or program management.
Demonstrated leadership through extracurricular activities or projects.
Experience in organizing and managing events or activities with peers.
Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and communicate with senior leadership.
Project management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Eligibility requires unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Please note that CNO does not sponsor work visas or provide positions as OPT or CPT.
