1 year verifiable CDL experience required. Interstate Waste Services is a leading provider of solid waste and recycling solutions. We serve a variety of customers across Northern New Jersey, Southern New York State, New York City, and have recently expanded operations into Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Ohio. Essential Job Functions: Safely operate Front, Side, or Rear-Loading Trucks for the collection of waste and recyclable materials. Transport these materials to disposal or recycling facilities, possibly making multiple trips during your shift. Lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and manage loads up to 100 pounds, requiring frequent mount and dismount from the truck. Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S. Possess a valid Class A or B CDL with an Airbrake Endorsement. 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 7 years is required. Must have an excellent safety record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is preferred. Keen understanding of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations. Proficient English skills to communicate effectively with the public and understand roadway signs and signals. Ability to read maps and navigate efficiently. Meet physical and safety requirements of the position. Willingness to work required hours as mandated by DOT regulations, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays. Additional Job Requirements: Ability to navigate congested and tight areas in urban settings. Skillful backing maneuvers are essential. Climbing in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts is a regular duty. Perform pre and post vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
