Construction Safety Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Construction Safety Manager to oversee and advance safety initiatives across multiple business units. This role will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations while promoting a culture of safety in diverse construction environments. The Safety Manager will partner with project teams, field leaders, and executive leadership to implement best practices that safeguard employees, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs and policies that meet regulatory standards and align with company values. Provide safety leadership and guidance across multiple trades, including AV, telecommunications, electrical, low voltage, security, and drywall. Conduct regular jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence. Coordinate and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and orientation sessions for employees and subcontractors. Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and field leaders to embed safety into project planning and execution. Track, analyze, and report safety performance metrics; provide recommendations for continuous improvement. Stay current on industry trends, OSHA standards, and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and proactive risk management. Act as a resource for employees regarding safety concerns, PPE requirements, and safe work practices. Support multiple entities within the business, requiring travel to jobsites and offices as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered. Minimum of 5 years' experience in construction safety management, ideally supporting multiple trades or entities. Strong knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, NEC, and other relevant safety regulations. Experience in AV, telecommunications, electrical, low voltage, security, or drywall construction environments is highly desirable. Professional safety and Trainer certifications (CHST, CSP, OSHA 500/510, or similar) preferred. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels. Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects. Willingness to travel regularly to jobsites around the DC, MD, and VA areas.
