Lower School Part-Time Social Worker

To Begin in August 2025

The Leffell School is a cutting-edge K-12 Jewish independent school serving more than 850 students on two campuses in Westchester County, NY, 30 minutes north of New York City. We are seeking a Lower School Part-time Social Worker for the 2025-2026 school year.

Position Overview:

The Leffell School is looking for a Part-Time Social Worker starting September 2025. As a member of our student support team, a Part-Time Social Worker will support students and families, empower teachers, and collaborate with other members of our school's social-emotional team. The Part-Time Social Worker will report directly to the Lower School Principal.

Responsibilities: • Provide individual and group services to students, including counseling services, that emphasize improved academic and social-emotional outcomes. • Develop, monitor, review, and modify behavior intervention plans. • In collaboration with the school's Social Emotional Team, provide teachers with behavioral and academic strategy support, resources, and professional development. • Work closely with some students' families to ensure students receive appropriate care. • Make external service referrals to quality providers.

Qualifications: • At least 3 years of experience working at a school as a social worker. • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW). • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) preffered. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Compensation and Benefits: • Pay Rate: $30,000-$50,000 • Benefits: Personal/Sick time and Holiday Pay
