is currently seeking an
Analyzer Technician II
to join our staff located at
Pasadena, TX.
They must be able to provide support for the continuous manufacture of quality high density polyethylene (HDPE) and specialty fluids (HDA), consistent with high standards of quality, safety, housekeeping, and good employee relations in manufacturing facility. Other duties as assigned.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair gas chromatographs, CEMS, VOC/HRVOC analyzers, and sample conditioning systems.
Perform calibrations, inspections, and preventive maintenance across various analyzer technologies.
Support analyzer reliability through root cause analysis, SOP updates, and incident investigations.
Interface with SCADA, DCS, and host systems; apply knowledge of electronics, chromatography, and process control.
Mentor junior technicians and provide second-level technical support.
Lead training programs and coordinate with contractors and plant operations.
Actively contribute to team performance, safety culture, and turnaround planning.
Share best practices across the organization to improve analyzer performance and reliability.
Review assets, PMs, and inventory to ensure proper maintenance and spare part availability.
Recommend equipment upgrades based on obsolescence, vendor support, or performance improvements.
Participate in Factory and Site Acceptance Tests; maintain technical documentation and analyzer directories.
Promote and adhere to environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and support the ENV group in compliance efforts.
Available for emergency support during nights/weekends as needed.
Other duties as assigned.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Experience -10-15 years of craft experience required (preferably as an analyzer technician)
Intermediate computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, Excel, operating systems, company software).
Ability to read P&IDs, wiring diagrams, schematics, GC oven diagrams, and other complex instrumentation/electrical drawings
Ability to read at a level to understand written safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and technical instruction manuals is required
Knowledge of AC voltage (120-480) three phase and single phase plus 24 VDC is required
Prior hands-on experience with process analyzers in an industrial setting.
Familiarity with gas chromatographs, continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), and other analytical instruments.
Must be able to respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which require carrying a communication device.
Must be able to work overtime when required
Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with operations and engineering teams.
Certifications & Licenses:
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
NCCER certification, State license preferred but may be waived in lieu of 15 years or greater in a refinery/petrochemical
Associates degree with an emphasis in Electrical/Mechanical skills, Industrial Electricity Instrumentation or equivalent
Electrical certifications to include technical college and/or manufacturing certifications. Siemens, Hobre, Emerson courses are accounted for as well.
Valid Driver's License and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
