Primary Purpose
The Driver | Houseman plays a dual role focused on both transportation and estate support. The primary responsibility is to drive the principal from the main residence in Los Altos to San Francisco and other destinations, maintaining discretion, professionalism, and safety at all times.
When not driving, the individual will maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and day-to-day upkeep of the estate's residences and grounds, ensuring that all areas are well cared for, safe, and ready for use.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties Safely transport the principal to and from San Francisco four days a week and to other local destinations as needed. Occasionally, drive other family members, guests, or staff as directed. Operate high-end vehicles with exceptional care and attention. Maintain discretion and confidentiality during drives; respect professional boundaries at all times. Monitor vehicle maintenance and cleanliness, coordinate service appointments, and track mileage and records. Plan routes efficiently to avoid delays, taking into account Bay Area traffic patterns and schedules. Assist with occasional transport of household supplies, plants, or other items between properties. Houseman Duties
Maintain outdoor hardscape areas, including patios, terraces, driveways, and pool covers, keeping them free of debris. Knock down cobwebs and clean exterior areas regularly. Perform deep cleaning and ongoing upkeep of outdoor BBQ areas and other specialized surfaces. Clean interior and exterior windows, including assisting housekeeping with hard-to-reach areas like chandeliers and skylights. Move and assemble furniture, artwork, and household items as needed. Assist with setting up for meals, parties, and special events; provide support during events if required. Handle trash, recycling, and compost, ensuring proper disposal and organization. Replace lightbulbs, remote batteries, and perform minor household maintenance tasks. Conduct regular visual inspections of the estate to identify maintenance needs and report them promptly. Keep storage rooms and other estate areas clean and organized. Assist with holiday decorating and seasonal projects. Shop for household supplies, groceries, and other items as requested. Perform duties at other Northern California properties as needed. Collaboration
Work closely with the housekeeping team to support daily, weekly, and seasonal cleaning plans. Coordinate with gardeners and landscapers; knowledge of Northern California plants and fine gardening is a plus but not required. Support and communicate effectively with other household staff, including chefs, nannies, and estate management. Qualifications and Skills
Proven experience driving principals or executives, with a strong safety record. Hands-on experience with residential cleaning and property upkeep. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Tech-savvy with the ability to email, text, and use a computer (Mac preferred). Excellent communication skills and ability to follow directions. Positive, proactive attitude with strong problem-solving abilities. Professional demeanor, appearance, and reliability. Flexible to occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance. Non-smoker and non-vaper. Excellent references required. Must pass a comprehensive background investigation. Willingness to sign a strict confidentiality and non-disclosure agreement (NDA). Spanish-speaking ability preferred but not required. Physical Requirements
Full-time physical activity in and around the estate. Ability to bend, lift, carry, and move furniture and other household items safely. Comfortable using ladders, stairs, and various household tools. Capable of operating laundry machines, cleaning equipment, and other devices. Able to travel independently between properties. Available for occasional on-call responsibilities. Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate:
$45-$50 per hour, depending on experience. Healthcare:

Knowledge of plants and landscaping in Northern California is a plus , though not required.
