The Manager of Patient Access is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of registration and access services at assigned healthcare locations. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and patient-centered service delivery by coordinating with clinical departments, information systems teams, and referring providers. The manager will lead process improvements, implement program enhancements, and manage resources to support high-quality patient access operations.
Key Responsibilities Direct and manage all functions within the Patient Access Department, including registration and scheduling services. Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to streamline registration workflows and improve patient experience. Plan and implement operational changes and enhancements to support organizational goals. Monitor performance metrics and ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. Provide leadership, training, and support to front-line staff to ensure consistent service excellence. Education:
Associate's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field (required) Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Management, or related field (preferred) Experience & Skills:
Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or management role within Patient Access, Scheduling, or Outpatient Services (required) Expert-level knowledge of third-party payer requirements and online benefit verification (required) Strong understanding of health insurance processes and basic medical terminology (required) Experience with Epic systems including Resolute Hospital Billing, ADT/Grand Central, Prelude, or Cadence (preferred) Preferred Attributes
Strong leadership and team development skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
