Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Assignment Duration:
16 weeks (Start: 9/22/2025 - End: 1/12/2026) Shift:
Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Week:
36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range:
$1830-$1960 Employment Type:
Travel Nursing Contract NICU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State or Compact State Minimum 1 year of recent Level II or higher NICU nursing experience BLS (Basic Life Support) certification - required NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification - required Proficiency with electronic charting systems Previous travel nursing experience required (no first-time travelers) Ability to float to Post-Partum and Labor & Delivery units as needed NICU RN Responsibilities
Deliver specialized nursing care to unstable newborns (32 weeks and greater) in a Level II NICU Attend and support all deliveries, including high-risk births Perform and assist with NICU procedures: breathing treatments, chest tube set-up/care, CPAP/BiPap, sedation, rapid sequence intubation, cooling/warming blanket, drains, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, syringe pumps Support GYN surgeries, couplet care, and transition nursery Maintain a patient ratio of 1:3 in the NICU Implement isolation precautions and provide breastfeeding support, including handling of breast milk Administer feedings (bottle, breast, gavage), IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids Care for neonates with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome; utilize bubble CPAP and oxygen delivery systems
