Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. Two years of teaching experience and experience with grant writing/management strongly preferred. Must earn DESE AEL Certification within first year of employment. Supervisory: Yes

Summary

The Director of Adult Education and Literacy provides leadership and oversight for the district's AEL programs, including GED/HiSET preparation and literacy services for adult learners pursuing their high school equivalency. This position is responsible for program development, staff supervision, grant management/compliance, and community engagement to ensure high-quality educational opportunities that meet state and local requirements.

Essential Functions:

Write and manage grants to support program growth and sustainability Hire, train, and supervise program staff Monitor and document professional development and certification requirements Schedule classes and coordinate test proctoring Order instructional and program supplies Complete required state and federal reports Collaborate with the Director of Accounting to develop and manage the program budget Create and distribute marketing and informational materials Plan and coordinate special events to promote student success Attend interagency, regional, and state meetings Collaborate with community partners to strengthen services and outreach Respond to and initiate communication with students, staff, and agencies Other Job Functions:
