Summary of Position:

The Specialist supports material planning, logistics, and optimization tasks to ensure timely procurement, efficient material flow, and space utilization. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, optimizing packaging specifications, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and shipping requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage raw materials

Responsible for continuous communication, management, and reporting of supplier activity to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and optimized supplier performance.

Minimize on-hand inventory, drive material handling efficiency for all suppliers through continuous communication to prevent any material shortage with system (TGPS)

Issue POs to all suppliers by using system (TGPS/SAP) maintaining accuracy and timeliness

Plan and manage material procurement activities based on production schedules and customer requirements.

Ensure the accurate and on time issuing of KD part Purchase Orders

Adjust inventory levels as needed based on actual cycle counts and scrap

Supports monthly material closure to ensure the accuracy of monthly payment for all suppliers

Control all suppliers for any issues and other duties assigned to them

Utilize TGPS & SAP for any issues or new implementation of SAP, MM module inventory management system

Create Materials BOM for SAP/TGPS

Distribute material usage Daily/Weekly plan for all suppliers by using EXCEL or TPGS

Coordinate with Group Leader to do 3C (Correct part/Correct Location/Correct Quantity on shop floor)

Plan and manage material procurement activities based on production schedules and customer requirements.

Coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of materials and address any issues related to delays or quality concerns

Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming materials, ensuring they meet quality and quantity standards

Monitor and maintain inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations, ensuring smooth production flow

Analyze and optimize material packaging specifications to improve cost-efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure safe transport and storage

Evaluate and optimize material flow and layout within the production facility to enhance efficiency and minimize handling time

Track and manage material orders, updating production schedules as necessary

Collaborate with production and logistics teams to align material availability with shipping and production plans

Prepare and maintain accurate records, including inventory reports, purchase orders, and supplier performance

Provides direction, development and leadership to floor associates

Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, layout, and packaging processes, as well as to align with safety and efficiency standards

Reporting:

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Education:

College Degree in Industrial Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

:

Minimum of 2 years of experience in material planning, procurement, or logistics within a manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP ) and MS Office Suite.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Experience in automotive manufacturing, particularly in seating production

Skills and knowledge within the automotive seating industry (experience in the seating industry is an advantage, but not a "must have")

Understanding of EDI systems and logistics processing systems

Experience with customs clearance and international logistics

Experience in optimizing material packaging specifications to reduce costs and improve efficiency

Knowledge of material flow and layout optimization for production environments

Collaboration experience with logistics providers and suppliers

Forklift certification (advantage).

Understanding of ASN, EDI, material handling, inventory and logistics
