Volunteer Opportunities at Hope Lodge
At Hope Lodge, we are dedicated to serving the community, offering support and providing a welcoming environment for our patient/caregiver guests and visitors. We believe in the power of encouragement and a high level of interaction. If you're interested in volunteering with us, please consider the following:
Roles and Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
You will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive experience for our guests. This includes receptionist duties, such as answering phones and greeting visitors.
Clerical Support:
Help us with administrative tasks, such as filing forms, distributing mail, copying documents, receiving shipments, and assisting with inventory management.
Support Services:
Contribute to Hope Lodge-specific programs and services, as well as participate in group volunteer activities.
Requirements: Online Training:
You will receive training through our Volunteer Learning Center, which you can complete at your convenience.
Background Check:
For security reasons, we require volunteers to consent to a comprehensive background check, which may include sharing your social security number (or an international background check for residents of other countries).
Volunteer Profile Form:
Complete our Volunteer Profile Form, including a Confidentiality Agreement.
Qualities:
We value volunteers who are customer service-oriented, punctual, reliable, and good listeners. Emotional maturity and attention to detail are essential, along with administrative skills.
Commitment:
While a long-term commitment of one year or more is preferable, it is not mandatory.
Availability:
Volunteer opportunities are generally available seven days a week 7 AM-7PM.
Cancer Survivors:
We encourage cancer survivors to volunteer, provided that they are emotionally and physically comfortable with the duties of the role.
