POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Quality Technician works with both the Quality Manager and Chemist. They will be inspecting, testing, and monitoring products to ensure they meet quality and safety standards before they are distributed. They work throughout the entire production cycle, from raw materials to the final product. Their core duties involve hands-on inspections, detailed record-keeping, and collaborating with manufacturing teams to resolve issues. They will also be responsible for routine QC laboratory analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, finished products, stability and process validation. The candidate must demonstrate competence in conducting most types of physical and chemical analyses using a wide variety of laboratory equipment. Experience working in a cGMP laboratory preferred. Collaboration, teamwork, accountability, and the ability to multitask are critical to a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Test selected products at specified stages in the production process for performance characteristics or adherence to specifications.

Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products.

Read worker logs, product processing sheets, or specification sheets to verify that records adhere to quality assurance specifications.

Verify that equipment is operated and maintained according to quality assurance standards by observing worker performance.

Adhere to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Demonstrate competence in conducting most types of physical and chemical analyses according to company established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP's), FDA/DEA/OSHA regulations.

Ability to efficiently execute SOP's, test methods, and other documents related to raw material, in-process, finished product/validation and stability testing.

Demonstrate efficiency in laboratory testing and proficiency with laboratory instrumentation.

Maintain a neat and legible laboratory notebook. Must demonstrate good documentation practices (GDP's) as required for logbooks and laboratory notebooks.

Ability to work with different types of chemical solvents, using proper personal protective equipment (PPE), as defined by the standard operating procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

Complete all projects in a timely manner, to ensure Safety, Quality and Customer Service.

Provide daily status updates on projects to the laboratory management.

Promote safe work practices and actively support department and plant safety goals within a continuous improvement framework

QUALIFICATIONS:

Associate's degree preferred

1-2 years of similar experience in quality testing

Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; prior experience in quality management systems a plus

Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others

Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task

Ability to work under minimal supervision
