Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Material Handler will prepare finished stock for production and shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing product. POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies Efficiently stacks and safely stores products in their designated area Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units. Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading and securing product. Maintains material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections and making operator repairs. Maintains a clean, neat and orderly work environment. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Performs daily pick-ups at suppliers' location. Able to receive and unloads full truck loads. Performs other tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned. Works with production and shipping to ensure shipments (Operators will not pick nor take product to shipping)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT There is moderate risk of injury. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work on feet entire shift. Safety equipment is required to be worn when on production floor. Work hours may vary between the standard production shift hours on first or second shift, potentially working a split shift to have coverage on both shifts, with an average 40 hours a week. May require some additional hours when production demand is at high levels. Consistent and regular attendance required. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a manufacturing setting. Valid driver's license a must. Ability to use and understand ERP system and functionality within. Must be able to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, accuracy, timeliness, reliability, productivity, and housekeeping. Ability to respond to change, handle multiple projects at once, and make sound decisions. Excellent communication skills. Very team oriented. Self-motivated with a high attention to detail. Consistently open to new ideas, possibilities, and perspectives.
