Technology Support Paraeducator Job Description

Performance Responsibilities and Job Task:
The primary responsibility of the Technology Support Para at Gretna High School is to assist staff and students in effectively using technology in a 1:1 environment. Working under the general direction of the High School Technology Coordinator, this position provides day-to-day support, helps troubleshoot issues, and ensures that technology tools are accessible and user-friendly. The Technology Support Para will use district-provided resources and follow established procedures to support a positive and efficient technology experience for all users.
Job Responsibilities and Roles: Device Support & Maintenance Assist with basic device repair and maintenance to keep student and staff technology functioning smoothly. Perform diagnostic tests to troubleshoot common issues and determine next steps. Forward hardware issues requiring specialized work (such as screen or battery replacements) to the appropriate service channels. Serve as support for students and staff troubleshooting and resolving a wide-range of hardware and software issues on Apple devices.
Technology Tracking & Documentation Maintain accurate records of technology inventory, including check-in/check-out of student devices. Document broken or damaged devices and track progress of repairs or replacements.
User Support & Collaboration Provide approachable and responsive support to students, staff, and administrators. Work collaboratively with the High School Technology Coordinator, teachers, and other staff to support technology use in a 1:1 learning environment. Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders when resolving issues.
Professional Skills & Disposition Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in handling a variety of technology-related needs. Prioritize immediate and high-impact tasks while managing multiple requests. Maintain a calm and professional demeanor, even in stressful or fast-paced situations.
FLSA Exempt Status:
Non-exempt.
Essential Functions:
The essential functions of the Paraeducator position include: (1) regular, dependable in-person attendance on the job; (2) the ability to perform the identified tasks and performance responsibilities which require effective teaching and communication skills; and (3) the ability to perform the following identified physical requirements.
At-Will Position.
This position is an "at-will" position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the Superintendent or Superintendent's designee.
