Job Description Zamboni Driver
Pay:
$20.314 per hour
Part-time, Seasonal, Not Benefit Eligible Join the City of Eagan as a Zamboni Driver at the Goat Hill outdoor rink! Essential Position Functions
Create and ensure wholesome recreational atmosphere. Assist Rink Attendant with maintaining order at the Goat Hill rink site. Drive the ice resurfacer during scheduled ice making times. Responsible for prevention of damage to the building and equipment, such as light fixtures, doors, and windows. Responsible for checking on the ice making machinery. Assist Rink Attendant with cleanliness and indoor/outdoor maintenance of the Goat Hill warming shelter during assigned shift and at the end of night. This includes and not limited to shoveling, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, removing hockey rink sideboards and pushing goals out of the hockey rinks. Pick up trash outside the building and grounds, assist with set up and take down tasks. Responsible for his/her own transportation to winter outdoor facilities. Prevent/mediate/resolve conflicts that may arise during scheduled facility hours. Provide written and/or verbal reports on all incidents and facility concerns no matter how minor. Inspect and monitor weather conditions to ensure a safe environment. Wear the appropriate staff attire during your shift. Provide cleaning and building supplies request forms to supervisor. Ability to work independently. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age or older. Valid driver's license. Minimum of 6 months of volunteer or paid work experience. Ability to perform all essential position functions under the working conditions as described. Things that may help you be successful in this role
Desired Qualifications:
Two (2) years of experience driving an ice resurfacer. Previous experience and knowledge of mechanical equipment and repairs. Previous work experience in winter outdoor facilities. Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of:

Be self-motivated and hard-working. Effectively communicate with the public and co-workers both verbally and in writing. Work independently and complete assigned duties in a productive and efficient manner. Maintain a positive, polite, considerate, and cooperative attitude.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and write for extended periods of time.
The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, run, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, color vision and peripheral vision. Ability to climb a ladder and operate a vehicle with multiple hand and foot operations. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must have the ability to walk on the ice surface.
Working Conditions: This is a temporary/seasonal position, part-time, up to 24-hours per week. Shifts include evenings, weekends, holidays, and school release days and are dependent on winter weather conditions. For 2025/2026 this position will run from November 1 - March 30. FLSA non-exempt; not benefit eligible.
50% outdoors; 50% indoors Employee will be required to do physical work in any weather, specifically winter conditions, including air temperatures to -15 F, wind-chills as low as -20°F Snow and ice must be traversed constantly when outdoors. Exposure to loud noises for varying periods of time. Exposure to cleaning and maintenance equipment and chemicals.
