Build software that powers real decisions. You will design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain an end to end big data platform. Your work will aggregate analytic results, feed downstream systems, and let users query, visualize, and analyze events across multiple data sources. You will solve hard problems at scale in secure, mission environments. Here’s What Your Day-to-Day Might Include
Analyze user needs and turn them into clear designs and performance targets
Design, code, debug, and enhance services and analytics in Unix and Linux environments
Develop Java applications with Spring and Spring Boot
Build REST services and web integrations over HTTP
Create data models and queries for relational and non relational stores
Process large data sets and deliver reliable, low latency pipelines
Develop event driven and data driven analytics with Kafka and queue systems
Design and implement complex algorithms within timing and resource limits
Write and run test procedures, track results, and verify fixes
Integrate existing software into new or modified operating environments
Use CI and CD, Jenkins and GitLab CI, for clean builds and releases
Automate with Bash and Python, manage configs with Git
Document designs, tests, and user guidance in Confluence and project wikis
Lead software teams when needed, set priorities, delegate work, and ensure quality
Review team code and artifacts for design adherence and standards
Monitor installs and performance to meet operational specifications
Recommend new tools and process improvements that reduce cycle time
Minimum Qualifications
Clearance:
Top Secret Clearance with Full Scope Polygraph, must be active, we do not have the ability to sponsor clearances
Citizenship:
Must be a U.S. Citizen, we can not sponsor visa
Experience and Education, SWE 3: Master’s in Computer Science or related field with 5 years as a Software Engineer, or
Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field with 7 years as a Software Engineer, or
9 years as a Software Engineer on work of similar scope, type, and complexity
Required Skills
Software engineering in Unix and Linux, strong CLI habits
Shell scripting in Bash and scripting in Python
Java development on Linux, J2EE experience and Eclipse IDE
Spring and Spring Boot microservices
REST and web services design and implementation
Big data processing and pipeline design
Data modeling for relational and non relational databases
NoSQL technologies such as Elasticsearch and Accumulo
Messaging and streaming with Kafka, understanding of queue systems
Continuous integration and delivery with Jenkins and GitLab CI
Source control with Git, disciplined configuration management
Containerization with Docker
Agile development practices and team collaboration
Write and review technical documentation and test results
Quality control on team products and clear defect resolution

Cloud based solutions and services in secure environments
Experience leading multiple software teams and aligning work to a chosen process
