Summary:
The Digital Plant Shift Engineer will be an integral member of the Digital Plant team within Bristol Myers Squibb at the Devens, MA campus. This role requires troubleshooting, root cause analysis, development of resolutions to Incidents, Investigation support, Information and Data requests, and technical support for Biologics Manufacturing Processes in a timely manner with escalation as needed. Business Critical computerized systems include process automation systems, manufacturing execution systems, quality system, data systems, and other systems directly supporting operations at the Devens campus. In addition, this role provides application service management, outage management, life-cycle management, and compliant change implementation.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
Support the 24/7 operation of all GMP computerized systems (including Process Automation Systems, and Manufacturing Execution Systems) utilized at the Devens Biologics site.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex automated and computerized systems while working in a cross functional organization.
Offer training, coaching, and technical support to Associate engineers. Follow and develop applicable standard operating procedures while working with validated systems.
Lead troubleshooting efforts, determine root cause of incidents, and lead problem investigations, proposing solutions to prevent recurrence.
Develop documentation within the knowledge base to facilitate the troubleshooting of future incidents.
Execute on continuous improvement and OPEX initiatives to enhance business operations.
Manage the system outage calendar, impact assessments, and site notifications for planned outages.
Work closely with Enterprise teams to coordinate outages and ensure outage impact is well understood and executed right first time.
Provide design, configuration, integration, and testing support of process control solutions for a variety of technical problems per Good Automation Practices
Support enterprise initiatives and participate on cross-functional teams to develop requirements and solutions.
Provide excellent customer service.
Knowledge and Skill:
Demonstrated strong technical skills working with Control Systems, Manufacturing Execution Systems, in a health authority regulated environment. Experience with DeltaV, OSISoft PI, and Syncade is preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of ISA S88 standard and batch processing operations required, experience with S95 is preferred.
Experience with GMP and Data Integrity principles as they relate to computerized systems.
Demonstrated ability to maintain systems in a validated state.
Ability to successfully support small to medium-sized projects.
Understands the importance of Systems Development Life Cycle.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and to escalate when required
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Qualifications:
Bachelor's in Engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
Minimum of 2+ years experience in the Pharma or Biotech sector, or an equivalent combination of education / experience.
