Efficient procurement of direct and indirect goods for the manufacturing facility, ensuring alignment with company values, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive cost savings, improve procurement processes, and manage supplier relationships. Lead cost-saving initiatives, mentor junior staff, and provide strategic insights to optimize procurement operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leverage data analysis and supplier management to help optimize purchasing operations and achieve annual cost-saving and productivity goals. Purchase goods and services in accordance with the company's ethics and values in mind. Work directly with various internal departments to drive cost savings and develop efficiencies to the current purchasing process. Direct and coordinate the buying of indirect materials, equipment, and supplies as part of the regular business process. Negotiate pricing, terms and conditions, and inventory agreements for direct goods and products with key suppliers Create, review, evaluate and/or approve purchase requisitions within the company's ERP system to ensure accuracy and timeliness to meet business needs. Communicate with suppliers through various channels. Ensure receipt of vendor documents including quotes and acknowledgments. Enter purchasing data efficiently and accurately, ensuring all files reflect business planning needs. Maintain proper audit documentation by obtaining, reviewing, and filing documents related to the purchasing process Track, review, and determine steps to manage suppliers and order status on a day-to-day basis to ensure business requests are met in a timely manner. Review supplier past due report on a weekly basis and work with assigned supplier to minimize late orders Source new vendors to drive cost savings and reduce waste. Provide data and subsequent analysis to management and other end users Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to receiving, pricing, and quality issues with suppliers. Establish annual productivity savings goals and manage cost savings projects by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders for assigned commodity categories Research market conditions and cost drivers impacting pricing for assigned indirect commodity categories Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to other procurement team members. Participate in quarterly business reviews with vendors. Travel up to 20% of the time for visits to suppliers and other production facilities. Education:
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field or equivalent experience.
Experience and/or Training:
3 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment which includes but is not limited to: Proven track record of driving cost savings initiatives, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating contracts. Supply chain management, sourcing strategies, and procurement project management, Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, quality, accounting, and senior management teams to optimize purchasing processes. Technology/Equipment: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel and experience working with ERP systems.

Experience and/or Training: 5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, with a focus on manufacturing or industrial environments; managing complex supplier relationships, driving cost reduction initiatives, and optimizing purchasing processes, strong background in contract negotiation, market research, and vendor sourcing for direct and indirect goods, familiarity with commodity markets and cost drivers, and experience with managing a team or mentoring junior staff.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
Sitting for long periods of time, 6-8 hours per day. Walking, speaking, hearing, and seeing. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools and typing. Semi-frequently lift up to 15 lbs. Some tasks may require employee to bend, stoop, twist, and turn.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Indoor working environment. Office is temperature-controlled all year round. Production may be hot in the Summer and temperature-controlled in the Winter. Moving machinery, i.e. forklifts, movable carts, etc.; uneven ground where cart tracks are identified. Air quality may be dusty and potentially require additional PPE in certain areas. Sound level below 85 decibels except in areas specified as requiring hearing protection.
