What You'll Do Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively upholds the CMC Safety Culture
Gain knowledge about Steel Making processes through job shadowing and hands on activities Intern will spend time in each job role throughout the department
Works cross functionally under direction to improve manufacturing/department processes
Completes special projects as assigned by their manager, to include analysis and change continuous improvement recommendations as requested
Perform general labor to support operation requirements
Perform minor repairs to keep buildings, grounds, and equipment in working order to include: landscaping, painting and housekeeping
Participates in team meetings and activities
Performs other duties as assigned
Plan, coordinate, and communicate with peers and supervisors daily to ensure safe operations, preservation of company assets, environmental compliance, cost and energy consciousness, and to promote the values of the CMC people program
What You'll Need Ability to work an 8-hour schedule, which may require some evening or weekend work
Ability to work in extreme heat
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment required
Ability to learn quickly and multitask required
Ability to pay close attention to detail required
Strong quality and results orientation with a proactive approach
Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
Ability to work independently with moderate level of direction
Critical thinking, strong analytical and problem solving skills and attention to detail
High sense of confidentiality
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross-functional team and work effectively among a diverse group of people
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to present to senior leaders
Passion for innovation and a leader for change
Must meet CMC attendance standards
Ability to interact with coworkers and customers in a positive manner, follow directions and work rules and accept constructive feedback required
Must be able to bend, stoop, push, pull, lift, kneel, squat, crawl and reach
Ability to work overtime as necessary outside of normally scheduled shift with little or no advance notification required, including weekends and holidays
Must be at least 18 years old
Good math skills required
Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Your Education High School Diploma or GED required
Currently pursuing a degree in a related field at an accredited university
