Job Summary

The Sr. Marketing Consultant is responsible for executing marketing execution and risk-related tasks as assigned/as necessary, and partners with consumer marketing team leadership to understand and support organizational priorities. The senior marketing consultant may direct the work of others and brings an innovative, growth mindset to enhance overall team performance. The Sr. SEO Copywriter will conduct topical and keyword research, write compelling and compliant copy, and collaborate with the SEO Lead to help share content creation workflows and editorial standards.

Responsibilities

SEO-Driven Content Creation

Write clear, engaging, and optimized content for web pages, articles, and other digital assets.

Align copy with SEO strategy, brand voice, and customer needs across various segments.

Topical & Keyword Research

Conduct research to identify relevant topics based on search trends, customer intent, business priorities, and competitive gaps.

Use tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or internal data to select high-impact keywords.

Process Development & Collaboration

Partner with the SEO lead to define and improve content creation workflows.

Help establish editorial standards and documentation for SEO copywriting within the team.

Incorporate feedback from LOB partners and compliance reviewers while maintaining SEO integrity.

Works autonomously; supports work of Consultants

Draws marketing strategies and/or insights from analysis, tests hypothesis; recommends strategy based on insights

Developing strong business/financial knowledge; understands client’s strategy; knows our competition and how business works

Strong writing skills; demonstrates creativity in articulating messages that support recommendations

Demonstrated presentation development; tailors message as needed; audience includes LOB clients

Proven relationship-building skills with mid to senior level management and cross-functional teams

Demonstrated influencing ability though analytical insights, business acumen and LOB knowledge

Experienced understanding of specialized marketing discipline.

Provide timely and effective communication to team members to ensure awareness and commitment to defined marketing initiatives.

Coordinates with internal and external business partners including line of business partners, analytics, creative services, agencies, compliance, and leadership to support development and execution of an effective marketing plan.

Follows established marketing processes and manages risks effectively

Effectively recognize and escalate potential risk. Have a handle on all team control procedures, testing, and processes where applicable

Maintains internal policies and procedures including updating and drafts training materials as needed.

Uses knowledge of marketing principles to help provide recommendations on use of tactics to achieve both marketing and business objectives

Assist with designing marketing plans and execution tactics for assigned product line(s)/segment(s) while adhering to established procedures

Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Complies with all KeyBank policies and procedures, including without limitation, acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in marketing, business, or related field or equivalent work experience (required)

Experience Qualifications

A minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience (required)

Demonstrated knowledge of traditional and digital creative marketing development process

Demonstrated understanding of banking products and segment needs

Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects at once and prioritize delivery based on key objectives.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Strong Oral & written communication skills

Physical Demands

General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000 to $120,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance
