JOB SUMMARY:
This position works directly with the Engineering and Internal/External Lab teams to develop validation test plans, schedules, risk assessments, internal test specifications inclusive of reliability statement and generates weekly status reports. The Validation/Reliability Engineer is responsible for reliability analysis throughout the product lifecycle.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop validation tests that replicate product usage and environmental exposure. Create validation test plans from customer engineering/test specifications, product risk assessments, customer reliability requirements, and customer field data. Develop durability and performance test procedures and fixtures Manage the execution of validation test plans Provide weekly updates to internal and external customers Complete engineering analysis on test results, including reliability analysis Apply statistical methods to analyze and predict performance Write test reports EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
BSME or BSEE/BSEET 5-7 years' experience Experienced in laboratory instrumentation and data logging Product or test engineering experience (preferred) Understanding of gasoline and diesel powertrain mechanization and theory of operation Working knowledge with product risk assessments, e.g. DFMEA's (preferred) Familiar with Statistical and Reliability tools: Minitab, Reliasoft, etc. Basic understanding of reliability sciences Six Sigma green belt (preferred) Good oral and written communication skills Works well in a team environment Hands on mechanical skills Fluent in English LOCATION AND TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
