Job Description

The Locksmith is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading a wide range of door hardware, locks, key systems, and electronic access control devices across an assigned group of campus buildings. This role also provides backup support for other areas of campus and responds to emergency situations as needed. The Locksmith will utilize the AiM Work Management system to receive and update work orders and will become proficient in multiple campus security systems, including Lenel (card access), KeySystems (key boxes), and SimpleK (core and key tracking).

Key Responsibilities Electronic Device Maintenance Maintain and repair electronic hardware such as keypad locks, card access readers, controllers, and electronic key boxes. Perform basic low-voltage electrical work to support these systems. Core and Key Data Management Maintain accurate records of key and core information in university systems, including updating electronic key box data in KeySystems and managing core/key tracking in SimpleK. Hardware Maintenance Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all types of door hardware including closers, hinges, panic devices, locksets, astragals, mullions, and related components. Collaboration & Access Control Partner with University Safety Operations & Engineering (USOE) staff to address and resolve access control issues within the Lenel system. Key and Core Maintenance Cut new keys, replace or re-pin cores, and perform other key-related services to maintain secure access throughout campus. Additional Duties

Participate in an on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency calls. Provide backup locksmithing services for other campus buildings when required. Qualifications

Education Qualifications

High school diploma or GED Experience

3 to 4 years Degree Qualifications

Technical School or Apprenticeship Program Skill Qualifications

Locksmith skills Computer literate with Google and Office products Good interpersonal skills and professional attitude Ability to learn and use various software systems associated with Lock ShopCustomer Service
