SUMMARY
We are looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Machine Assembler II to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling and testing packaging machinery and systems according to machine specifications, work instructions, and customer requirements. Key tasks include mechanical and electrical assembly, testing, and calibrating equipment to ensure it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and hands-on, with experience using hand and power tools. You should be able to follow instructions closely, learn through observation, and adapt quickly to established assembly processes. While this position typically reports to a production lead or supervisor, it also requires the ability to work independently.
Additional responsibilities include crating and uncrating machines and equipment, operating a forklift to move materials and crates, keeping the production and warehouse areas clean and organized, managing inventory and performing cycle counts, loading and unloading trucks and containers, and coordinating shipments between facilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assembly & Testing Uncrate and crate packaging machinery to prepare for assembly and testing. Assemble mechanical and electrical components for packaging machinery using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and specification manuals to guide the assembly process. Pull necessary parts from inventory and follow detailed work instructions to build machines accurately. Drill and tap into metal or wood as part of mechanical assembly processes. Perform basic testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of assembled products to ensure functionality and quality. Diagnose and resolve mechanical or electrical issues during assembly and testing. Perform repairs, adjustments, and rework as needed. Conduct final inspections to verify completed equipment meets quality and performance standards. Material Handling & Warehouse Support
Load and unload equipment from trucks and shipping containers. Sort, organize, and manage large machinery within the warehouse space. Ensure accurate tracking and usage of inventory during the assembly process. Participate in routine inventory activities, including cycle counts. Use the company's business software to perform routine transactions such as receiving and allocating jobs, reviewing bills of materials, checking inventory, and completing work orders. Documentation & Communication
Accurately complete required documentation such as work orders, quality checklists, and inventory forms. Update and document assembly processes and modifications as needed. Collaborate regularly with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to solve technical issues and improve processes. Work Environment & Travel

1-3 years of hands-on experience in mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly is required. High school diploma or GED is required. Strong mechanical aptitude, with demonstrated experience in manufacturing processes and equipment. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. Ability to work independently and follow general instructions with minimal supervision. Effective communication, time management, and teamwork skills. Capable of handling multiple tasks and adapting to changing priorities. Forklift experience is preferred but not required. Basic proficiency in using general office equipment (telephone, copier, fax, computer, etc.). Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional travel between facilities in Brooklyn Park, Rogers, and Big Lake, MN. WORKING CONDITIONS :
