Under the direction of the Superintendent of Maintenance or designate, the Building Maintenance Person is responsible for all scheduled preventative maintenance and minor repairs of building systems and equipment such as power-operated equipment, hydraulic systems, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems. Performs routine cleaning, painting, maintenance, and repairs of facility. Performs minor lawn care and snow removal. Performs Basic plumbing and electrical repairs. May work with Facility Maintenance Specialist on coordinating work projects of outside contractors. Responsible for completing all required documents and reports for work performed. Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Age:
21+.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalency.
Experience:
Must have at least one (3) years previous experience in a comparable field.
Certifications:
Must attend Pace's Mechanic Training Program and pass examination for position.
Must have or obtain within 30 days of being hired, a valid "B" Commercial Driver's license with passenger and air brake endorsements and the ability to operate Pace equipment.
Must have or obtain, within 60 days of being hired, air conditioning certification, forklift certification, and underground tank certificate.
Proficiencies:
Must have or purchase a set of hand tools sufficient for performing the duties of the position.
Must be able to operate all company equipment and have knowledge of the service area.
Must pass Pace Building Maintenance examination.
Must have basic administrative skills, including typing and data entry skills.
Must have the ability to read and follow blueprints, schematics, and maintenance manuals and to operate test equipment.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, and capable of lifting 75 pounds to waist height, maintaining and carrying that weight for a minimum of ten feet.
This is a safety sensitive position.
Working Conditions:
The performance of these duties may be required 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Work is performed in a shop environment, where the employee may be exposed to loud noises and noxious odors and other environmental conditions.
This position is not eligible for hybrid schedule or telecommuting.
